Nola's First Day of 3rd Grade

Brave girl.   She was supposed to start afresh at a Portland Public School.  Not only did that implode, she shifted from private (SFFS) to public school (Miraloma).  Like a cat with nine lives, she pretty much landed on all feet after being thrown from the metaphorical high rise.  #girlalmighty

Cambria Birthday Weekend

Lest we forget the parents, I'm posting a link to the photos from my birthday weekend getaway to Cambria with my childhood friend, Kim Infante.  Kim and I met up for less than 24 hours for some much needed R & R on Fall Back daylight savings weekend.  I highly recommend leaving behind your family on this weekend, as you get an EXTRA bonus hour to yourself.

Fall (Ball) Guy--Tween Angel

Sarek played his first SFLL Fall League as a rising 5th grader this year, and Brett stepped in as Assistant Coach for his team, the Angels.  Not surprisingly, Brett was a great coach, and the boys got in quality Father-Son time.  Sarek got his hitting groove back and ended up with the highest batting average on the team...possibly in Fall Ball.   The Angels went undefeated and won their league division.  Coach Chris Verplaetse was SArek's coach for the third time in his short 1.5 years of LL,.  Most compellingly, Sarek excelled at catcher.  It's such a natural position for him....he has such great field sense and is almost stubborn about not letting many balls get past him.  When he wasn't stealing bases,  he loved throwing out kids when they tried to steal bases.  Reminds me of Tonka Truck Bubby in all his rugby body glory.  We were blessed with an amazing photographer dad, who captured the following:
