Big Lasts

Sarek is off to middle school next year, which for some mysterious reason starts in 6th grade.  He had his last recess yesterday, 6/4, and I've attached the last lunch love note I'll put in his box tha isn't a special occasion.  Don't think Mom's
notes would go over well in middle school. 😞

Big sigh as my heart seizes up.  I am all for them growing up, I just wish I could come along in the same intimate way of the elemenatry years.

Working Mama

This is what life looks like at 1 am, 3 hours before a working mom leaves for the airport to attend a conference where she will be presenting twice.   Even at this hour, the multitasking doesn't stop.  Here I am throwing my bag together and puting out the supplies Nola needs to make hygiene kits for the homeless for a school project.

Synergy Stars—5th grade soccer

Sarek switched schools and soccer teams this year, landing well in both places.   The team is a mish mosh of La Scuola, Synergy, and Sunnyside schools.  Super chill kids and parents despite the inevitable passion of Europeans for soccer.  Sarek really flourished on this team. Danilo, a former pro player in Brazil, thinks Sarek should quit all other sports and play soccer.  I kind of think he's right...Sarek is a natural in field sports.
