Hands Down

Sarek and Nola got artsy and craftsy for Tia's birthday this year at the local ceramic making shop. They want to go back for more. I wonder which time it will be that they finally break something while there. Little bulls in a china shop...

Working 9 to 5

Sarek likes to play like he's going to work. He puts on "work" clothes (his normal clothes but he decides the outfit), packs a bag (pink poodle purse or cloth drawbag with toy keys, dead cellphone, and a favorite Matchbox car), and packs his lunch (plastic Easter eggs and random pieces of wooden toy fruit). Tonight, while I was at the diaper table with Nola, he said, "Bye Mama, I'm off to work!" I said over my shoulder, "Bring home the bacon, sweetie!" He said, "OK!" and left the room. He then went straight to the kitchen and dragged a chair to the cabinet with dishes. When Brett asked him what he was doing, he said without missing a beat, "I'm getting a plate." "For what?" Brett asked. Sarek said, "To bring home some of the bacon, Daddy!"

Seaweed, Silly!

Everyone in the California bubble on Gates St. loves their seaweed snacks. We can't believe our kids love tofu, seaweed, and kombucha. But we'll take it! Here's proof: Sarek's bandaid is from a Lego injury at daycare. Chester clocked him one when Sarek decided he wanted to play something else. You can't see it well, but Nola got her first gash in the same 24 hours near her eye but on the opposite side. She fell on a toy truck while walking at the playground. Hazards, everywhere, people! It's killing me...

Nola Steps Out!

A big milestone yesterday for the newest Evareddy. She finally walked! She went from not interested to turns mid-stride. Not sure why the IPhone cover is in her mouth, but it seems crucial to her first steps. She's not stable, and she stills prefers scooting. But it's a walk, and Deena will take it. Important to note that Nola walked before she first crawled. See the next post. Not sure we will see the crawl again.

Save the Date

Sarek and Mom played with Playdough tonight. We made Cheerios, logs, and the usual shapes. Then we got really brilliant and made rings. Sarek made our neighbor, Leah, an engagement ring to match his. His: pink with blue stone Hers: blue with pink stone. Leah is not 2 1/2 years old yet, but she's almost potty trained and really proud of it. I guess that melts my boy's heart. It's a good place to start! Certainly a sign of good judgment of character...
