Halloween 2010

We partied again on Belvedere street. Nola was Little Miss Spider, Deena and I scored some last minute Bumble Bee costumes, and Sarek and Dexter were ON FIRE as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat. Alden hand made those costumes for the boys and they were a hit everywhere they went, especially together. The video at the end is not ours, I found it online. It just shows alot of the fun stuff going on on Belvedere Street. The dancers in the windows dress up as characters from a different kids movie every year. This year they were dressed up as denizens from "Shrek". We saw the ogre himself, Donkey, and Puss in Boots shaking their groove thing.

Sushi

Nola has been enjoying a book about 10 little fishes. She got a kick out of a recent trip to the aquarium.

Finger Lickin' Good

Instead of staring at them through the window, we crashed Ben and Leah's house for dinner. Thanks for cooking Karen. Yummy chicken.

Sole Man

Sarek wore out his first pair of sneakers. Made new holes for his toes to poke out the bottom. He called these his Sebastian shoes, because Sebastian in San Luis Obispo had a white pair like these. Most of the damage was done by hot rodding around on his bike with Dex. Time to make a shoe budget.

(Block) Party On

We pulled off the first annual Gates St. Block Party last Sunday. It was a beautiful way to spend 10/10/10. Highlights included a fire engine and police car for the kids, batting cage, face painting, food and wine, pies pies pies, grass fed hamburgers, Filipino food, everything you can imagine. The kids took over the streets with bikes, baseball, skateboards, chalk, and general merriment. Makes you think the key to world peace is to be neighborly. Brett organized the whole thing. Here's to next year...11/11/11?
